1800-1820 Regency Ball Gown

I was fortunate to have the honor of dancing with the Atlanta Baroque Dancec company for a Regency ball in 2013. I had a wonderful time! In preparation, I quickly made a Regency era ball gown from two identical embroidered saris.

Because of the fabulous reviews, I used Simplicity 4055 Misses Costumes. It is based on a pattern from the Sense & Sensibility pattern company.

This was a very quick dress. I love the gathering of the fabric in the back that forms a mini-train.

I’ve only worn this once, so I don’t have many pictures. I need to host a regency tea with the ladies so we can get more pictures in costume…
